![]() Chris began her career as a chef in 1980's Santa Cruz, just as California emerged as America's most sophisticated culinary environment and became the birthplace of the organic foods movement in the USA. A graduate of the culinary arts program at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California, Chris held important positions at a number of wine country's most prestigious restaurants and catering firms. After re-locating to the Midwest, Chris worked for major caterers in Chicago, as well as a diverse range of high-line restaurants such as Chicago's groundbreaking tapas venue, Cafe Ba Ba Reba. Chris has experience with a very wide range of cuisines including French, Vietnamese, African, Indonesian, Persian, Turkish, Spanish, and Fijian styles of food preparation and presentation. Chris has always maintained roots that her family created in Mexico, and has catered exclusive events in Cabo San Lucas, Baja. She has extensive experience as an educator, and teaches cooking classes ranging from basic introductions to higher-level cooking skills to advanced culinary arts techniques. The tremendous diversity of our founder's culinary background and expertise is evident in the relaxed sophistication of each of her creations, and is a constant delight to our clients and their guests.
